Who We Are

The Center for Gender Economics in Africa (CGE Africa) is a Nigerian women-led research, policy, and development organization established in 2011 to advance gender equality and inclusive economic transformation across Africa. We generate evidence, influence public policy, strengthen institutions, and convene strategic partnerships that expand women’s financial and economic inclusion.
Our work bridges applied research, policy dialogue, multi-stakeholder convening, institutional capacity strengthening, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning across government, development finance institutions, the private sector, civil society, academia, and communities to address structural barriers limiting women’s economic participation.

CGE Africa works across thematic areas including:

  • Women’s Financial and Economic Inclusion
  • Gender-Responsive Public Policy and Budgeting
  • Sustainable Finance and Gender Lens Investing
  • Climate Change and Green Economy
  • Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture
  • Blue Economy
  • Natural Resource Governance
  •  Social Inclusion and Social Protection
